And while she normally dons a hard hat, we decided to embrace her slightly more corporate side for her personal branding portraits. And then we unleashed the fun side and got carried away creating some beautiful portraits just for fun in Juanita’s custom designed and made corset. 

What drew you to this 40 over 40 campaign?

I was impressed by Tamryn’s ability to capture the essence of the people that she photographs.

If you could go back and tell your 20 year old self something that you think would change your life, what would it be?

God is your rewarded, not man! He will sustain you.

What are you post proud of yourself for?

I am most proud of the things I have overcome and the strength I have gained along the way. My scars, wrinkles, grey hairs and the twinkle in my eye are all well-earned.

Thoughts on aging?

I love every step and stage of my life journey. Age should not define who we are. Each age brings its own challenges, but also pleasures and joy. Years bring wisdom, insight and peace.

What advice do you have for other women 40+ out there?

You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Let your dreams become your visions. You have the capability to impact the world in significant ways if you believe it and refuse to be limited by the opinions of others.

What do you currently love about yourself?

I love the person I have become, because I fought to become her.
