The lovely and gorgeous Ronel! I am so excited to share Ronel’s 40 over 40 portrait experience with you. Ronel saw an ad for this campaign and loved the idea that she could become the best version of herself and be vulnerable, in a space where there is no judgement. We did a whole load of portraits for Ronel during this session including, personal branding portraits, casual portraits, couple portraits, as well as some others ;). 

What drew you to this 40 over 40 campaign?

I have never done anything like it, and if I did not do it now, I would probably never do it!

If you could go back and tell your 20 year old self something that you think would change your life, what would it be?

Boundaries are important. “No”, is a full sentence – use it when you need to.

What are you post proud of yourself for?

Daring to do the photo shoot 🙂

What are some goals or things you still want to do?

Create a simpler life for myself and my family. Worry less about things I have no control over. Make a positive difference every day in someone’s life. Be joyful every day.

My friends and family describe me as:

Thoughts on aging?

You always have a choice.
You can fight the changes and go to extremes to try to look/stay young, or be sad and angry about the changes. Or you could choose to embrace it, make peace with the changes in your life and body.
Try to accept it and be content.
Nothing you do will prevent you from going through this process. Try to do it as healthily as you can.
Live life to the fullest ….. even while ageing.

You will be ok!

What has gotten easier for you since turning 40?

Knowing what I want and making it known.

What do you currently love about yourself?

Knowing that I can disagree with people and still be friends afterwards.
