Victoria & Jen’s 40 over 40 Campaign

Meet sisters, Victoria and Jen. Victoria and Jen came to me to do the 40 over 40 campaign together. They have both been on a massive and incredible journey and this was their moment to celebrate themselves and to celebrate each other!

What drew you to this 40 over 40 campaign?

A mad moment one afternoon when I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and I’m so happy I did.

If you could go back and tell your 20 year old self something that you think would change your life, what would it be?

Relax and enjoy the moment more don’t be in such a rush

What are you post proud of yourself for?

My daughters, had my first daughter, then twin girls just 25 months later—so at one point, I had three under three! Sometimes, I’m not sure how I managed it, but I was lucky to have an amazing husband and supportive family.

One of my proudest achievements recently has been losing 42 kg over two years. It was a long journey, filled with countless frustrations. I knew something wasn’t right with my body, but doctor after doctor told me my tests were “normal,” despite having all the symptoms. If I’ve learned one thing from this experience, it’s to keep pushing and advocating for yourself until someone listens.

What are some goals or things you still want to do?

Travel more

“What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?”

Has there/is there anyone in your life who has made a massive impact, if so, how?

My dad was the one who motivated our entire family. He believed in each of us, and everyone who met him left with something valuable. He showed me what I wanted in a life partner through the way he treated my mom—always supporting and encouraging her to try new things. Yet, he wasn’t the person who sought the spotlight; he was the man working behind the scenes. He used to joke that he was like Prince Philip to my mom, always in the background.

Sadly, he passed away five years ago, but his impact is still deeply felt. This year, my sister and I decided to get tattoos of our maiden name in his handwriting on our arms, so we always carry a part of him with us. It was an interesting challenge for Tamryn to capture a photo of my tattoo, but it’s something I’ll cherish forever.

My friends and family describe me as:

Probably bossy

Thoughts on aging?

Do it how you want to do it and don’t let anyone else tell you how to do it. So if that’s Botox or bungee jumping go for it. But enjoy it!

What do you think some of your best qualities are?

Planning and organizing

What advice do you have for other women 40+ out there?

Start trying new things, get out of your comfort zones, don’t look back and wonder about if I should have done that later in life.

What has gotten easier for you since turning 40?

When it’s time to walk away

What do you currently love about yourself?

Since losing the weight I love getting dressed in the morning. I have always loved clothes and I’m once again getting to wear and try clothes instead of just wearing clothes that fit./span>
