Beautiful Hanneli took part in the 40 over 40 campaign I currently have running, and am I happy that she did. This lady has done so much with her life so far, from running Comrades marathon, hiking the fish river canyon to being a mom to three kids all while thriving in her career. What a life! 

What drew you to this 40 over 40 campaign?

my first thought was that it will be something special to do, just for myself!

Do you have a story / experience you want to share?

All three my children immigrated and as it is a very emotional experience, I think I managed to find peace so far and are fairly successful in finding meaningfulness in my life again.

If you could go back and tell your 20 year old self something that you think would change your life, what would it be?

Enjoy life and appreciate your beauty at every stage of life. Do not settle for second best!

What are you post proud of yourself for?

I am very proud of the strong, pleasant, independent adults my three children are.

I have achieved a lot in my career and experienced the pleasure of fulfilment. I did some extreme physical challenges which taught me that nothing is impossible.

What are some goals or things you still want to do?

I have had a very fulfilling life up to now and if that can remain, together with wonderful family and friends, I will be grateful.

Has there/is there anyone in your life who has made a massive impact, if so, how?

Many wonderful people made an impact on my life!

My friends and family describe me as:

Loyal, unselfish.

Thoughts on aging?

I am not very fond of aging but I am grateful for the way it is happening to me!

What do you think some of your best qualities are?

I am sympathetic, resilient and can see the bigger picture of challenging situations.

What do you currently love about yourself?

I am less stressed about everyday life. I think I am a bit more relaxed in general.

I am very healthy and energetic.
