Meet Natasja!

Natasja’s 40 Over 40 portrait experience in Johannesburg was about portraits (obviously), but it was also a whole lot of celebrating the woman she has become.

Through raising her children, strengthening her faith, and learning to embrace her authentic self, Natasja has reached a stage of life where she feels confidence comes from within rather than from the opinions of others. Her portrait session in Johannesburg became a celebration of that journey, capturing the strength, joy and wisdom that come with life after 40.

“If I could share one lesson with a younger woman, it’s that your mistakes do not define your worth. The opinions of others—particularly those outside your inner circle—truly do not matter. Instead of trying to impress people who don’t value you, pour into those who do. Most importantly, face the chapters of your life you’d rather forget; healing from them allows you to become a blessing to others. When you reach out and support another sister, you’ll be amazed at how transformative and positive that connection can be.”

“My greatest source of pride is finally becoming my true self, stepping away from the pressure of who others want me to be and no longer punishing myself for not matching some ‘perfect picture.’ Along with that journey, I am profoundly grateful for the beautiful relationships I have with those I love, and I am proud to share that love across the communities I am a part of.”
