I love love love food! Like am obsessed with food. But on the whole I stick to stuff I know and normal sort of stuff. So when my uncle took me out to this place the first time I was a bit hesitant as they tend to not really stick to the ordinary and instead do the extraordinary. Since I’m such a greedy guts there was no way I was going to turn down food, so I decided to try some of it. Wow am I glad that I did. Their food is amazing.
I had been planning to do the shoot as simple as possible and use one back ground colour for all the photos and keep the exact same lighting for everything. The food wasn’t just standard food so I didn’t want to distract too much from it and rather have all the focus purely on its uniqueness. I walked into the shop on the day of the shoot though, and they had this super pretty table in the entrance – so there went my original planning. Since it was right at the entrance of the shop it also had the most amazing natural lighting. I reassessed my plan and decided to shoot on a wooden board on the table instead. For the most part I tried to keep it as simple as possible, but also use props to ‘tell’ what was inside each of the pieces that it wasn’t obvious just by looking at it.
